Green Power Bukidnon Philippines Inc held a multi sector consultation in aid of securing Designated National Authority (Department of the Environment and National Resources or DENR) acceptance of the Maramag based multi-fuelled biomass power plant project. The consultation included representatives from the local Maramag Community, Local Government, Provincial Government, NGO's and the Academe. The project was warmly received by all sectors sighting the benefits of Climate Change Mitigation, Socio-economic development and the bringing of base load, decentralized Renewable Energy to Bukidnon. The project is expected to obviate 141,134 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide in the first year and 3 million tons over 21 years whilst providing 3,400 jobs and delivering $USD 20 Million in revenues to the local community during the plants first year of operation.
