: Mr. David de Montaigne
Group President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Green Power PLC
Mr. David de Montaigne Group President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Green Power PLC Corporation, opened the activity by expressing his gratitude to everyone for taking time in attending the Stakeholders’ Consultation. He acknowledged the support of local government officials specifically the Sangguniang Bayan of San Leonardo, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Nueva Ecija and the Honorable Congressman Rodolfo Antonino of the 4th District of Nueva Ecija for the invaluable support being given to the project.
He mentioned the tremendous socio-economic development that the project will deliver into the community, specifically the 3,400 jobs expected to be generated from collecting and transporting biomass from the fields to the power plant. Mr. de Montaigne also stressed that the project will deliver about 14,000 people out of poverty as the sale of agricultural residues for the power plant’s feedstock requirements will serve as additional income for the farmers, a far cry from the usual burning of these residues in the fields, as is the normal practice around the country.
The Honorable Barangay Captain Leopoldo Maniquiz of Barangay Tabuating welcomed the local guests and thanked the participants for attending the Consultation. On behalf of the entire Barangay, Chairman Maniquiz expressed his gratitude to Green Power Nueva Ecija Philippines Inc. (GPNEPI) for considering Barangay Tabuating as the project site. He remains confident on the socio-economic benefits that the proposed project would bring to the people of Barangay Tabuating and to the community as a whole. He expressed his full support for the said project.
