Global Biomass PLC Corporation (GBC) has commenced the development and construction of a research development and munufaturing facility in Mina, Iloilo on the Island of Panay.
The 5,000 square meter facility is being built adjacent to the Green Power Panay 35 Meggawatt biomass multi-fuelled power plant that is currently under development in Mina. The facility will manufacture equipment dedicated to the collection, processing and delivery of biomass derived from agricultural wastes to Global Green Power PLC (GGPC) biomass power plants within the Philippines, national customers and for International export.
The facility named Global Biomass PLC Corporation Philippines Research, Development and Manufacturing (GBC-R-D-M) is the very first of it's kind in the Philippines and will represent an investement of $US 4 Million by GBC over the next 24 months. Construction is expected to be completed by March 2012 however manufacturing will commence next month from temporary facilities to support immediate requirments of GGPC. GBC R-D-M is in the process of executing a collaboration agreement with the Mina TESTA Training Center to help develop local Iloilo careers in engineering and manufacturing.
